The Nobel Prize for Literature 2011
Did you hear who has been awarded the Nobel prize for Literature this year?
My favorite poet. And a Swede!
I'm definitely not into poetry, but this poet is amazing. I was forced to read and analyze him in high school and I'm so glad that I had to. Tranströmer writes in a pretty simple way, with a very metaphorical language. He's been translated into over 60 languages and I've heard that his poems are great translated too.
He unfortunately doesn't write much anymore due to a stroke he suffered, but he's also a very good piano player and I think there are published recordings by him too.
I truly recommend you reading some of Tranströmers work! Here's an Amazon link to one of his books: The Great Enigma: New Collected Poems

Gym card!
I bought my first gym card ever yesterday. It's been since my first year of high school I worked out regularly. And that's like... 6 years ago. I also took my first class yesterday. Some basic cardio, strength (like sit-ups and push-ups) mixed with simple aerobic moves. I feel a bit sore today, but it's such a great feeling!

Photo Challenge?
Well, I honestly don't know what happened with my photo challenge. Summer apparently meant so much more than time to blog. I'v been traveling quite a lot, not far, but back and forth to Göteborg a couple of times and some trips to my father in Landskrona and then to friends. And I did a lot of studying.
Now, I'm back in Göteborg for what hopefully is my last semester at uni and then I'll have a bachelor's degree in statistics. I'm taking a couple of different courses and I have some exams that I'll have to retake too. And then there's the issue about my bachelor's thesis. I now live in a new apartment on my own. A tiny tiny studio (smaller than my last one), but it's basically in the middle of down town Göteborg. I will have to post pictures as soon as I get it all done.
About the photo challenge. I think I'm just gonna take it up from where I left of, that is day 11. And then I'm gonna tell you all about my latest book finds and new favorite TV shows.

Day 10 - Animal
I have taken lots of pictures of animals lately. Mostly on the same dog though, my mom's dog Liza. She's in one of the pictures below.
Puppy I saw on the train station today
Giant spider I had on my bedroom wall a couple of weeks ago. Freaked me out.
Our dog, Liza
Liza's friend Yatzy
All photos are taken with my iPhone app Camera+ and I've used Instagram to put different filters on all pictures above.

30 day Photo Fun continuation
Yes. I'm totally aware of the fact that I got stuck on day 7. I was after that computer less for a couple of days due to traveling. Then I kind of forgot about it. But, I'm all for continuing now.
Side note: I've kind of totally realized that I use the phrase "kind of" way too many times.

Day 2 - My Favorite Shoes
Toms shoes. Camera phone, filter Sunkissed from Camera+ and tilt shift from Instagram. Taken outside on the lawn.
My Toms shoes. I have three pairs, red, light blue and navy. I LOVE them all. But red is my favorite color. I'm so happy Jessey introduced me to this brand last summer. These shoes are by far the most comfy shoes ever!

Day 1 - Self Portrait
30 Day Photo Fun
I really want to keep this blog going, but I need some motivation. I really liked Amanda's idea early this spring that meant posting three summer pictures. It was kind of a challenge and it made me do it. So, I've decided to follow a photo challenge I found online on the blog A Fethered Nest. It was apparently a June challenge, but I figured I'll just change the dates, starting today, July 6. Anyone else with me?

Things I currently love
Pinterest - This is a website that lets you create mood boards and pin pictures from the web onto them. It's so fun and addictive and lets you discover great ideas for the home, new recipes that look yummy, cute dogs etc. It's invite only, but I think I'm able to send invites to an unlimited amount of people.
Angry Birds - Ever since Jessey and Dedee showed me this game on their iPad in July, I've been playing it. Now, I have it on my iPhone and I do have all three games; Original, Seasons and Rio.
The Ark - A Swedish pop/rock band. This is probably my all time favorite band. I have listened to the through all my different phases in life for the past 11 years. And now they're quitting. It's so sad.
Instagram - Also an app on my iPhone. It's for sharing photos with other people you follow. You also have a lot of different filters to put on the photo to make it look old. Or vivid. Or black & white. Or..
HomeFries - A series of podcasts. I prefer the Joy the Baker podcast and the Table Set podcast. I also find it entertaining to listen to the Crush Podcast even though I do not drink wine myself.

The Summer Project
Amanda's great idea about showing unblogged summer pictures. I found some from this summer. (Most of my summer pics are already everywhere, but these (I hope) are new.)

I'm gonna be better at this.
I will be better at posting things here. I just haven't decided if I'm gonna keep mixing my regular life-stuff with the food stuff, or if I'm gonna turn this blog into a food blog only, or I might start a food blog in Swedish instead. Haven't made my mind up yet.
Opinions?
I'm not sure the food I cook is something my English speaking friends would want to cook. There is a difference between the regular Swedish cuisine and the American one. But my New Year's resolution for this year (at least for spring) is to cook at least one new recipe every week. It's funny that Amanda also thought of that. Seems like getting cookbooks for Christmas makes one consider that. My new favorite food blog is Joy the Baker. (Found on Amanda's Love These-list.) I wanna do something similar. Do yo think I'll manage? I could be Emma the Pancake maker. 'Cause I love pancakes. And we eat them for breakfast. And lunch. And dinner. And I have a ton of different recipes.
